late for school

I’m late. Yes, late to take my graduate studies. Well, maybe not really, but it is ideal that by this time, I should be working on my thesis. Sometimes I feel bad about it; but remembering the real reasons why I had to delay makes it justifiable (and comforting). I miss attending classes, writing lectures, reviewing lessons, learning new things, taking exams, writing papers…. (besides the reports and papers at work, that is). Some people, like my Ate, don’t want to go back to school, but not me. I want to have my doctorate someday. Of course, that’s after I finish my Masters. It’s still a long way for me.

My friend professor from Florida State U. wrote to me after the ISTR Conference:

I'm glad to hear that the conference experience enriched your own learning. Have you made any decisions about entering a masters program, either urban planning or public admin? I hope you will eventually decide to do so; you're very bright and talented, and graduate education could help you take advantage of your potential.

I was very encouraged reading his letter. I had a chance to work with Dr. RB while he was a visiting professor here in the University last year. He is a respectable expert and a very jolly person. He likes almost anything Filipino. Not to mention the jokes!

Careerwise, perhaps it’s better that I take public administration or urban planning or any social sciences courses for my Masters. But I’m interested in Special Education. I believe there’s nothing like the joy of teaching. Whichever I decide to take, I made up my mind on one thing… I will be a student again next academic year.

Quiet time

Life Decisions

My friend and I have been having some “casual, serious conversations about life” lately. And it all boils down to the question of, “What makes you happy?” We both have some considerable realizations lately and understood that somehow, we are at a crossroad in life. She made her step, I started mine, too. I just pray that we had the wisdom from the Lord in the roads that we chose. As for me, I trust the wisdom of a good friend in the situation, especially that, I know God’s hand led the discernment. So bless me, Lord.
