burn out?

I'm currently serving in the youth body ministry in the city and am quite active. I enjoy it very much. Anyhow, I think I’m a little off-mode with the local church ministry. Honestly, I’m having second thoughts on asking my Pastor to relieve me on that post and that I transfer the responsibilities to a younger leader in church. I think she can manage it well. Most of the kids at church are in high school and college and my schedule as a working youth (I’m the only one, the rest are students!) does not jive well. Physically I’m drained. I feel like I’m exhausted all the time. I work from Mondays-Fridays (and believe me, this time of the year, I'm all-drown with my load--talk about the national congress I'm working on) and go home on Saturday mornings. Saturday afternoons we go to church for the prayer meeting and worship team practice. On Sundays, we have church service in the morning, youth fellowship in the afternoon, and me, core meeting until night. After the meeting, I rush straight to Manila (commute for about an hour and a half) and arrive around 9pm in the apartment. Sometimes I feel like I just want to push the PAUSE button. I want more time with my family, I think we hardly 'talk' lately. I miss them all.

I don't know why I’m typing this in the first place... I, I don't know.

Burn out is very real. And if it is causing you to not see your family, maybe you should consider stepping down for a time. Take a break, spend time in prayer and ask God what He is trying to tell you. I'll pray for you too.
